I wrote this song for my wife. Life is always better in her company, no matter the circumstance.

The original idea came from something I noticed we both do (and have been told by other couples that they do as well), which is roll to the other's side of the bed should they rise before us. There's something comforting about the lingering warmth and scent of your lover. Thus the lyric, "her perfume on the sheets".

Lying in her warm embrace
Here I find the courage
To take on the day
Because I know she'll love me
Come what may

In the mid of daytime
When Spring flowers give their scent
I pause my labor until
And recall her sweet fragrance
How I long to lie with her
Her perfume on the sheets
These thoughts sustain me
Until again I am complete

I the cool of evening
When our passions are all spent
I will lie beside her
Never to depart again
And though our tomorrows
Are all now yesterdays
I will feel no sorrow
Having spent them in her grace
